Safe blood saves millions of lives each year around the world. Provision of safe blood is a fundamental need for the health system of every country. Human beings are the only source of this life-saving product because Blood cannot be produce artificially. But a shortage of safe blood in several developing countries often leads to unnecessary deaths or ill-health, Hence there is an urgent need for more people to Donate Bleed Voluntarily on a regular basis to save precious lives.
TMSS Medical College and Rafatullah Community Hospital is a tertiary care and specialized hospital of Bogura District of northern Bangladesh. This hospital is operating ahead with twenty-two departments including 1000 beds. The patients of this hospital need blood & blood product each and every time for their treatment as well as the management of different diseases. Basically, the Transfusion Medicine Department of this hospital has been established to meet up special need. This department is working for promoting the Voluntary Blood Donation activities since the beginning of its establishment other than their regular activities. TMSS gives honors to the Voluntary Blood Donors in the organization's highest forum Annual General Meeting (AGM).
